Within Cynthia Madansky’s decades long collaboration with the musician Zeena Parkins, Bubble is one of several pieces initiated by Parkins for collaboration. Other projects include Spellbeamed (2013) and Lace (2024).

Shot in Ft. Greene Park in Brooklyn, Madansky and Brudniak create a film in four acts, set in four locations. Zeena Parkins performs on harp and with other sonic objects and materials alongside dancers Eleanor Hullihan and Erin Cornell / The Plastic Girls. They perform solos, duos and trios. Bodies wrapped in plastic and gold foil, movements on concrete steps, performances under trees illuminated by the morning light, are accented by the filmmakers experimentation with the materiality of video, extreme slow motion, layering and color cut to Parkins soundscape of hypnotic electroacoustics.
